Asbestos Safe Handling Safe Work Method Statement
This SWMS is a fully comprehensive document that provides guidance on working with/or removing non-friable asbestos that take less than 1 hour to remove OR are < 10 sq. m. in total. (No licence required). Please note that this SWMS should be used for minor work in which asbestos or asbestos-containing materials (ACM) are encountered in the workplace. Some examples may be drilling into, painting or replacing a small section of non-friable asbestos sheeting wall or removing non-friable asbestos lagging for a pipe repair.
IMPORTANT: This SWMS is suitable for Victorian businesses only.
It should be recognised that this SWMS does not cover the removal of friable asbestos, or non-friable asbestos greater than 10sqm, or working with asbestos friction materials such as brake pads.
